Castelvetrano is at the centre of the territory, in Italy, that has received the Protected Designation of Origin ( DOP Valle del Belice) certification. The certification was issued, for Extra Virgin Olive Oil production, by the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies on October 2nd - 2002.
The Ristoro Italiano Extra Virgin Olive Oil product is born in Castelvetrano among lands wisely cultivated with olive groves and vineyards, where centuries-old tradition has contributed to the many awards and accolades for the olive Nocellara del Belice.
Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil, imported from Sicily -a region of Italy- is testament to the gourmet qualities of the Nocellara del Belice olive. As an imported products into Alberta and Canada, we want to ensure the fullest transparency. To this end, each bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil contains a clear description of where the olives were harvested and produced to ensure that all Canadians have a little doubt as the authenticity of production and the protected origin of the olives themselves.
Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a green colored oil with a medium fruity taste and with a slightly bitter and spicy flavor. The acidity never exceeds 0.3% and ensures complete digestibility.
